February 2009 The temporary Anemometer Mast has been erected. This will gather data to help design the windfarm. January 2009 The Planning Inspectorate have granted planning permission for the temporary anemometer mast at Newton Down. June 2008 Bridgend Borough Council have refused permission for the anemometer mast. This decision will be appealed. May 2008: Temporary Anemometer Mast Plannning Application To design the windfarm it is necessary to measure the wind speeds in advance. We have applied for planning permission to erect a temporary anemometer mast on the windfarm site. This will be a thin steel tube supported by guys. It should be erected for about 1 to 2 years. This is not part of the windfarm and does not indicate that the windfarm will go ahead.
