Landscape

 

The windfarm site is now farmland, nearly all arable. The site was previously a wartime airfield. Aircraft hangers, hardstanding areas and a perimeter track still remain.

The site is surrounded by significant existing developments as shown below:


To the north of the site is the M4 industrial corridor between Bridgend and Port Talbot, with business parks, steel works, railway yards and linked with by the M4 motorway, mainline railway and two Hi-voltage pylon lines.

To the south of the site is the town of Porthcawl, a seaside town with beaches, amusements, golf course, caravan parks, etc. To the southeast is the beginning of the Glamorgan Heritage coast which extends 20km down the coastline.
