The windfarm is in a rare position of having adjacent consumers of electricity. This provides the potential to supply electricity directly avoiding the use of the electricity grid and hence making cost savings.

To the north of the site is the Cenin Ltd Low Carbon Business Park, where research into low carbon cement replacement products is taking place. The windfarm is adjacently located and could support the park by directly supplying discounted carbon free electricity. This proposal is supported in principal by both parties.

If the windfarm was permitted, the developer would also wish to explore the possibility of supplying electricity directly to the neighbouring Cornelly quarry which is a major electricity consumer. A discounted direct electricity supply may also benefit this operation.
